Glossop YET - Early Intervention Clinics 

PCSO Buller form the Glossop Youth Engagement team has completed 4 early intervention cliincs (discussions about consequences with young people) at Glossop Police Station and Buxton Police Station this week.

This is part of the restorative justice system - with the perpetrator admitting being responsible for their actions and by them showing remorse and accepting the input as part of a resolution/closure for them- they are completed in agreement with the victim/parent and Police and are administered by officers trained to deliver these workshops.

The Youth Engagement Teams (who are part of the Safer Neighbourhood Team establishment) can administer ‘Early Intervention Clinics’ with young people (aged 10 - 17) that meet the requirements for a suitable outcome. 

Derbyshire Constabulary operate several early intervention programs focused on preventing crime, supporting vulnerable young people, and addressing anti-social behaviour and crime. 

Evidence strongly indicates that early intervention can transform outcomes for young people by diverting them from anti-social behaviour, criminal activity, and related risks etc.
